Want to know more????

Zafira Dance Company (www.zafiradance.com): performances are opulent vignettes that combine Bellydance with contemporary and ethnic dance forms. The result is an ornate performance that blurs the boundary between old and new; performer and audience, earthy and elegant. Guided by the mood of the music, Zafira draws the viewer into each piece by shaping rhythm and melody into gesture and form. Liquid movements, staccato accents and textured choreographies capture a timeless beauty that expresses both the sensuality and strength of the female form. Zafira Dance Company members work together as a collective. Christine Andrews, Maria Hamer, and Olivia Kissel have been teaching and performing together since 1996. Their friendship and love of dance shines through in each performance. Each member is a contributing artist and brings something unique to the company. This collective approach allows Zafira to offer a unique and powerful dance experience like no other.

Incus (www.incus.net): Incus is a wonderfully interactive group that mesmerizes its audience, and manages to sweep an entire room into a heartfelt dance party and sing along. "Under the powerful vocals and drums that drive Incus's music is a soul that is rare. If Incus is dark, then it is dark like the woods under a full moon: unexpectedly bright, full of brilliant stars, inviting, warm, natural and seductive." -

Incus Releases their new Video "Dancer Through Time" at the Winter Gala and will be premiering a new song as well...

Dudochka: DUDOCHKA is a septet dedicated to providing live Gypsy grooves to the sublime dancers of ZAFIRA. Comprising members of Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band, Esthema, Faebotica, and Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, it strives to combine sensuous Balkan brass with a modern cabaret sound conducive to disrobing.

Vadalna Tribal Dance Co. (www.vadalna.com): Your host, Vadalna Tribal Dance Co., will perform for the last time before returning to the cave to emerge in the Spring with a new rendition of their full-length show, Menagerie. This performance will feature their newest piece “Desire” complete with a brand new video accompaniment. Additionally, Vadalna’s beginners and intermediate students will be featured throughout the performance.

In the spirit of the Sanskrit word for "change" which lends them their name, Vadalna walks a continually shifting line between contrasting elements, melding Middle Eastern movement and rhythms with hip-hop and beats of the electronic underground, the ancient with the ultra-modern, the intensely personal with the universal and archetypal. The result is something neither one extreme nor the other, but both, and unique. Vadalna's constant evolution is reflected in Menagerie, in which the self journeys through the light and shadow of the deepest psyche to become a creature more familiar than you think.
