Sacred World Interdependence Day celebrates its 4th year hosted at the most lustrous and beautiful Earthlands Nature Preserve in Petersham, MA, coming together for an extended weekend of community building, art, dance, sustainability, healing and information sharing!
We were all born to be creative. And since humanity began, we have been in strong relation with the land we live upon. Since the industrial revolution, this relationship has developed an imbalance. Sacred World Interdependence Day (SWID) over July 4th weekend brings people together to reclaim inspiration through the performing (expressive) and healing arts, and through building healthy relations to the world we are a part of.
S.W.I.D offers a variety of in depth classes in wild crafting, sustainability, alternative healing modalities, sacred dance, shamanism, fire spinning and community activism etc. Musical acts take the stage for your dancing and listening pleasure. Artists gather to create interactive art installations to engage and inspire.
On Friday night The Sacred World Bellydance Review presents “Archetype” showcasing local dancers and artists. On Saturday night we hold an all night Sacred Fire Circle Ceremony bringing a sense of ritual, renewal and healing by drumming, dancing and singing till dawn.
Earthlands Preserve is a truly beautiful off the grid facility operated by our friends from the Institute of Environmental Awareness. The event's capacity is limited to 250 people (at one time). This is a camping event. All attendees are asked to bring food to share, and to offer an hour of service to help hold the event.
If you have attended years past, you may have noticed that event prices have risen. Please know this is to further support our amazing host and facility Earthlands, HeARTbeat Collective and stipends for some of our amazing musical performers.
